East Iowa Herald: Local 4-H State Fair Winners Local 4-H State Fair Winners ================================================================================ Lenoara Hagen on 11/13/2009 12:33:00 Several HLV students and members of the Poweshiek county Warren Winners 4-H club exhibited at the Iowa State Fair. They showed in photography, horse, sheep, goats, and beef. Layla Hagen had a photograph win purple at the Poweshiek county fair and it got to go to the Iowa State Fair where it received Photography Blue, and received a 4-H Gallery Award Plaque Sponsored by the Professional Photographers of Iowa. Cecilia Hagen, entered her Saddlebred gelding to the Society Horse Show in Country Western Pleasure winning 2nd, and Country English Pleasure 3rd. 4-H English Pleasure exhibitor grade 10-12, Blue and exhibitor grade 10, White. Blake Kuesel took several sheep to the fair, winning Black Face Commercial Ewe, Div. 2, Purple Champion Division 2 Black Face Ewe and Market Sheep Market Lambs, 2 Purple Brenden Kuesel took live performance sheep winning Market Lambs, 3 Purple and Division 2, Purple Champion Division 2; Reserve Grand Champion Performance Lamb - Live Ryan Grier brought Meat goats winning Does 6 - 9 months, Blue, Does 3 - 6 months, Purple, Wethers, 2 Blue Colton Blomme, entered cattle in the Open Red Angus show winning reserve in bred heifer division. Junior Red Angus show, 1st place in bred heifer division. Reserve bred heifer overall. Also placed reserve in futurity class receiving a $750.00 savings bond. These 4-Hers also show through out the year in open shows. It takes much dedication, time and money to show at these levels.
