A few years ago I spent an afternoon walking around a 300-year-old town in upstate New York (which happened to be founded by my ancestor) with a friend, a self-defrocked minister. Despite leaving the clergy, he didn’t leave his knowledge behind as he described in detail the history of the ancient churches we passed - all based on the architecture.
I had assumed barns in Iowa would be much the same way - that people could easily recognize and differentiate between them. Apparently, that’s not the case as no one recognized the barn lying just a short distance east of Victor. Maybe it was snow-blindness from the snow in the photo?
This week we have something terrifying - well, at least he’s grinning about it!
