Lawrence R. Anfinson
Lawrence R. Anfinson, age 83, of Ladora died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2008, at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor. Entombment was at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the Lawrence R. Anfinson Memorial Fund.

Larry was born the son of Thomas and Lilly “Mabel” Nervig Anfinson on June 28, 1924 in Nevada, Iowa. He was raised in Nevada and graduated with the Nevada High School class of 1943.
Larry honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Janet Ann Greeley on June 21, 1964 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. To this union were born their children, Laura Charlene and Martin Joseph Anfinson. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1973. He was a manager at the Tip-Top Distribution Company in Cedar Rapids from 1965 - 1978 and recently worked for Cecil Gorsh and Sons as a roofer.
Larry was a member of the Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church, south of Ladora. He took pride in helping others in need. His enjoyments included attending coin auctions and he had an extensive collection of coins.
Larry is survived by his children Laura Eckman and Martin Anfinson of Des Moines, Iowa; one grandson; and his sister Arlene Opstad of Garden Grove, California.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
