Hope Marie Cordes

Hope Marie Cordes, 49, of Cottonwood, AZ, died on Sunday, March 23, 2008, at the Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, AZ.

A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Victor Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Michael Fink officiating.

Memorials may be directed to the East Iowa Bible Camp at Deep River, IA.


She was born on May 1, 1958, in Marengo, Iowa, to Darrel and Carolyn Cordes.  She lived with her family for the first 12 years of her life on the family farm near Guernsey and then moved to the Shepherds, Inc, a Baptist home in Grove, WI.  Later, to be closer to her parents who retired to Phoenix, AZ, she went to live at Rainbow Acres at Camp Verde, AZ.  She most recently resided in a group home in Cottonwood, AZ.


She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Cordes of Omaha, NE; one brother, Marvin (Carmen) Cordes of Guernsey; three sisters, Diane (Howard) Brooks of Chandler, AZ, Janice (Michael) Fink of Henderson, NE and Miriam (Bill) Bybee of Omaha, NE; six nephews, Jeffrey (Brenda) Cordes of Pella, Kenneth Cordes of Guernsey, Kevin (Sandy) Cordes of Sully, Scott (Amie) Bybee of Omaha, Dan (Jessica) Bybee of Omaha, and Gregory (Michelle) Finks of Dallas; and five nieces, Sherri Russell of Chandler, AZ, Christine (Lance) Hackney of Frisco, TX, Angela (Chris) Hofer of Tea, SD, Lori (Chet) Adamson of Omaha, NE and Stacy (Mary) Perez of Hays, KS; 21 great nieces and nephews; and two aunts, Lila Frazier of Cedar Falls and Wilma Watkins of Malcom.


She was preceded in death by her father in 2003 and one niece in 1975.
