MARENGO - The Obama campaign has, once again, contacted Candi Schmieder of Marengo to speak at an upcoming event. This time Schmieder and her eleven year old daughter, Riley, will travel to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. The event takes place on August 25 through August 28.
Schmieder says the campaign is asking people who are involved but not yet politicians, including herself, to give a three minute speech about why they've gotten involved in the process.
"It is going to be a full convention at the Pepsi Center in front of 20,000 people," said Schmieder. She says the event will also be streamed live on the official Democratic National Convention Website, www.demconvention.com.
Schmieder said it will also be televised but was uncertain of the details at press time.
