Are we ready for some colorful flowers after this long hard winter? You bet we are! The Victor Area Chamber of Commerce suggests this might be a great year to “paint the town red” with lots of red flowers this summer.
“We did this once before, and it really looked great,” said Maria Hawkins, owner of The Shoppe. Chamber members present at a recent meeting all agreed.
The Chamber will again have hanging baskets in the downtown area, but this year the flowers will be red. Members encourage others in town to participate by planting red flowers as well.
The Chamber heard a report on the big Victor Fun Day celebration coming June 28. Activities that are being planned for that day include a parade, a children’s parade, children’s games, a car show, face painting, a 5-K walk or race, and food tent.
A young group in town is working hard to build a park by the library, and they will have events on June 28 also. This celebration and park fund-raising involve many individuals and groups, and is seen as a sign that the Victor area is alive and well. The group expressed pride in our community as they watch so many working to make this an even better area in which to live.
