VICTOR -
KICK BUTTS day was April 2nd and the HLV JEL (Just Eliminate Lies) members assembled a display with old shoes collected through the week to symbolize those that have died due to tobacco use and its effects.

The display was set up in front of the school in the early morning hours before classes.
KICK BUTTS day is celebrated each year across the nation so groups like JEL may make people aware of the dangers of tobacco use and its effects.

This year the HLV JEL group competed in a contest against the Iowa Valley JEL group to see who could collect the most shoes. The winner was HLV with a total of 118 pair of shoes.

Kayla Damisch, HLV JEL president, designed the KICK BUTTS poster.

HLV JEL members pictured are: Kayla Damisch, Tiffany Roberts, Emily Kriegel, Morgan Schafbuch, Erynn DeRycke, Anthony Lynn, Candace Pierce, Abbey Dentel, Lauren Robinson, Paige Simmons, Vanessa Jack, Sarah McCombs, Liz Otte, Dustin Schafbuch, Joe Stiefel, Trish Glotfelty, Dakotah Pidima.

A thank you goes out to all who donated their old shoes to our project!
