The playground equipment has arrived for Marengo City Park.  A Community Build will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2008 beginning at 7:30 a.m.  It will take most of the day and many volunteers to install all the equipment.  Premier Recreation will provide a representative to supervise all work and guide the installation.  Lunch, drinks & snacks will be provided.

Volunteers are needed.  Come to help all day or for a few hours.  There are no special qualifications for helping.  There will be something to do for all ability levels from unwrapping equipment and sorting bolts to using power drills.  It is requested that children not come due to safety reasons.  If there is a need, we may be able to provide child care.  If there are any individuals or local service groups looking for a community project to help with, this is it.  Please contact Mindi Slaymaker at marengopark@yahoo.com or Candi Schmieder at 319-642-7032 or cschmieder@iowatelecom.net if you can volunteer.

If you have tools you can bring when volunteering, the following will be needed:  step ladders, hand levels, allen wrenches, drive sockets 3/8”, and battery powered drills.  Please clearly mark all equipment you bring so we can make sure you get it back.  We are going to try and have a sound system to have the Iowa Game on the radio so you won't miss a play of the game!

Come join with us in building a better place to play for all our community’s children!
