VICTOR - By 6:30 p.m. the small room in the Victor Public Library was standing room only. A cacophony of voices came together into a nearly indistinguishable mass of sound. Occasionally, a word or two would stand out. Laughter would always stand out.
Across the street at City Hall the scene was, presumably, less social and more to the point. The Republican caucus was held with single votes, private ballots. The Democrats took a more elaborate road as they gathered with their neighbors to do their part to choose the next leader of the nation.
It was the very essence of democracy. Neighbors meeting to discuss who will be best for them, for their community, for their children.
